Father’s Day is almost over, but I’d like to share my insights with you anyway. When I woke this morning, I remembered it was my husband’s special day. I also thought about my own father who passed away long ago. Then I remembered my Heavenly Father on this day of honoring all dads.
Pondering my Heavenly Father while expressing my love and gratitude for Him, I just knew today would be a great day in His presence. I told my Father that I wanted to honor Him all day and make His day special, but He surprised me.
My Father gave me tokens of His love in ways I hadn’t expected. It was a picture perfect day as everything went better than I expected. He took charge of everything just as my earthly father might have done, only better. You see, my Heavenly Father has clout, and what He says goes. His desire to dote on me wasn’t to be tampered with today. He was a splendid Dad, as always, and I felt His love.
Funny thing…it was my intent to honor my Heavenly Father today. Yet He honored me instead. Doesn’t that sound like something a loving dad would do? It was wonderful to feel so loved and special.
I want you to know that it doesn’t matter how old you are, whether you have an earthly dad to honor today or not…you do have a Heavenly Father who is loving you 24/7, making every day feel like it’s YOUR special day.
