I say that I trust God, but do I really? Sometimes life looks a little scary, and even God seems a bit scary. What if God allows my journey to take me on the back roads where it isn’t as smooth sailing as the interstate? Will I trust God?
Of course I will trust Him! The alternative is a washed out road lined with fear, worry, doubt, discouragement, despair, and more. For sure I don’t want to journey there! But what does the trusting God route look like?
Well, it can be a lot like strolling down the avenue with your mom and dad when you were a little child. You hand off all your stuff to them. You are hot and sweaty, so you take off your jacket and give it to one of them to hold for you. You’re tired of carrying your teddy bear, so you hurl it at the other one to hang on to. You trip and your shoes laces come untied, so Mom or Dad drop everything, bend down and tie your shoes. Then you are tired of walking so you expect your father to carry you the rest of the way. That’s the way it is when you’re a little child.
That is exactly how it is with your Heavenly Father. He meets your needs and carries you. The road ahead might seem a bit scary, but trusting God is your best option. You can off load all your belongings and even expect God to carry you. Be like a little child again, and let your Father do all the work for you…after all, you ARE His little one!
